A weekend that marked the beginning of summer is what happened on Albarella Island. On Saturday 30 May, the Sports Centre’s beach re-opened its doors, providing sunbeds and parasols with an even larger safety distance to that required by the present legislation on health security. An exclusive window overlooking the beach that has once again received the Blue Flag Award.

Big news for this weekend was the ribbon-cutting ceremony of AlbarellaLand, an eco-sustainable playground. On Saturday morning, children and their families were able to enjoy the six attractions positioned between the dunes and the valleys of the Island, all made with natural materials (wood, cord…etc). They were able to climb, swing, slide, hide and chase each other. The project is a another step forward of the larger redesign of Albarella Island , “Immersi nella natura”, created by the Coloco Studio in Paris, that foresees a series of interventions to redesign the Island’s natural and environmental heritage through a contemporary conception of the landscape and a new urban vision. “ We wanted families to return to Albarella Island as soon as it was made possible– explains Mauro Rosatti, General Manager of Albarella. For a long time we have been preparing to welcome them in safety; continuing more than ever in caring for our Island. For this reason, as soon as we received the order from the Veneto Region on the reopening of the playgrounds, we rushed to implement all the measures contained in the order so as to be able to let families and children enjoy this beautiful adventure park.”

Also on Saturday Albarella Island’s Centro Sportivo’s Restaurant opened for business as usual , the only restaurant overlooking the sea, it is open for lunch, the Self Service, complies completely with safety standards, and for the evening with an A’ la carte menu. Sporting activities have resumed. On mornings and afternoons at the weekend you can take fitness classes held by the professional trainer Angelo Festa, who is assisted by the latest arrival: the functional Triform station, that allows workouts in the various workstations, on racks, bars using kettle bells, weights and ropes. Please note that for safety reasons and physical distancing, each lesson must be booked in advance as numbers are limited, call 366.6437985.
