A preview of the “Evolutions” exhibition to be held this summer: Officinadïdue’s “The Big Ear” which celebrates the marine ecosystem

A vortex that comes out of the water and spreads upwards. A force that pushes against the ordinary and generates worlds that would otherwise be sucked up. A whirlpool that induces the focus of listening to an underwater world, this is the artistic installation “The Big Ear”, created by Officinadïdue on Albarella Island and was available to the public on Monday 8 June, in honour of the World Ocean Day with a preview only by invitation held on Sunday 7 June.

A vortex that comes out of the water of the Palancana Lake, accompanied by the sound of the nature from the sea. “The Big Ear”, or rather a way to listen to a fragile ecosystem such as the marine one, becomes a work of art giving a taste of what will be happening on the  island from the end of June, when the “Evolutionsexhibition dedicated to raising awareness of climate change, the theme of biodiversity and the human-art-nature dialogue opens.

Art can express concepts that words alone fail, touching emotional levers, sensoriality and deep perceptions, and precisely for this reason, Albarella Island has chosen the language of art to send its guests an important message to raise their awareness of nature. The “Evolutions” exhibition, curated by Officinadïdue ,represented by the artists Vera Bonaventura and Roberto Mainardi, noted for their work “Urlo di Vaia” after the storm that hit the Asiago plateau and the eastern Alps in 2018, which is  installed in the artistic path of Arte Sella in Valsugana,. It should have opened on the 1st of May, but because of the health emergency has been postponed to the end of June.

On the World Oceans Day however, Albarella Island could not miss the opportunity to pay homage to the large mirrors of the water full of life in the world, fragile ecosystems to protect. So on Monday 8 June at 10:00 and 19:00, the artistic organization “The Big Ear” was activated, a preview of the entire exhibition and work that will be repeated daily from 27 June, opening data of “Evolutions”.

“This is definitely the best time for this preview – explains Mauro Rosatti, general manager of Albarella Island – our guests have an immense desire to enjoy our wide open spaces, enriched by the landscape project Immersed in Nature by the designers Coloco . Being able to meet in these paths the works of great artists such as Roberto Mainardi and Vera Bonaventura, who transmit to us with their echo, the need to safeguard and enhance this beautiful nature that surrounds Albarella Island, part of the Po Delta, will surely be a ‘ unique and exciting experience, which will soon be enriched with other works soon to be presented ”.

“The ear has a great ancient symbolism and is associated with wisdom; with the wisdom of listening – explain the artists Vera Bonaventura and Roberto Mainardi – The archetypal movement of water is the spiral. A prayer arises from the bottom of a whirlpool. A breath that allows two worlds to communicate with each other. Our life as humans and people has passed through water. Dolphins are our progenitors and animals that communicate through the inaudible frequencies in our ears, ultrasound. They know how to see through the bodies. Art makes us transparent “. priority
