A PRIVATE PARADISE IMMERSED IN THE SOUTHERN LAGOON
Albarella, the private island situated in the lagoon south of Venice, is a protected place ideal for a surprising and active holiday in a completely relaxing environment.
In the heart of the Po Delta Nature Park, connected to the mainland by a bridge, the island covers an area of 528 hectares covered by Mediterranean scrubland, with 2 million trees and 150 different tree species, including cluster pine and white poplar, also known as "Populus Alba", from which the island takes its name.
100% of the surface area of the island, both terrestrial and aquatic, is under strict environmental protection.
The island is the natural habitat of deer, pheasants, hares, herons, marsh harriers, stilt plovers and little egrets.
THE CONCEPT BEHIND THE ISLAND IN CLOSE CONTACT WITH NATURE
Close contact with nature, with wild animals, tranquillity and silence are the essential ingredients for a peaceful and relaxing holiday on the island of Albarella.
We protect the well-being found here by limiting access to the island. The point of entry is closed by a barrier and only those with a special pass may enter.
The resulting sensation is that of entering another world, a faraway oasis that is marvellously different from everyday life.
30% of the island, where more than 2300 properties are owned by private homeowners, belongs to the MARCEGAGLIA family, with 300 holiday houses, villas and apartments let and managed as well as two hotels and all the shops and sports centres.
MARCEGAGLIA Hotels & Resorts, the tourism division of the Marcegaglia Group, manages the letting of houses, villas and apartments directly as well as the hotels, the Marina, the Albarella Golf Club and the activities of the island's Sports Centre.
