The watchmen and surveillance service on the island of Albarella is run by a private watchmen service called C.I.V.I.S. Spa. The service grants assistance 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The watchmen are in charge of making the rules of the island be respected and of punishing offenders.
C.I.V.I.S. S.p.A. – Italian Interior and Street Surveillance Centre – is a leading company in this field and it is UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 and UNI 10891:2000 certified.
On the island a considerable staff of watchmen is on duty. They are perfectly trained in first intervention procedures in case of fire. The staff of the security wears authorized uniforms, is licensed to carry guns and is provided with a law decree by the prefect of the police. Their license to carry guns is issued for security guards and special guards in compliance with the law on public security T.U.L.P.S.
The watchmen fulfil their tasks with rigour and high professional skills. They are particularly in charge of the traffic, of the surveillance of buildings and of people’s safety. The island is divided in four areas, each of which is given to a watchman to work in. This way each watchman comes to know exactly the kind of problems which might be arising in his usual area. Civis has been given the task by the Communion Association of making the rules of the islands be respected and of punishing the offenders by drawing violation reports on a regular base.
