Rovigo
Historic provincial capital of the province bearing the same name, used to be an important milestone in the developments of the Polesine region. It is located in the northern- middle part of the so called Medio Polesine, where the small river Adigetto flows. Rovigo is around 60 Km away from the island. The old town presents interesting historical and artistic remains mirroring its past times: you’ll find some Medieval towers of the former castle, the evidence of the Venetian influence in the Accademia dei Concordi and in the Rotonda and the bourgeoisie power embodied by the Social Theatre.
Inside the monastery of San Bartolomeo, is to be found the "museum dei Grandi Fiumi", it is the most recent and innovative cultural institutions of Rovigo.

"Palazzo Roverella", recently restructured is the venue of wonderfull art exhibitions like that in 2006. "Le Meraviglie della pittura tra Venezia e Ferrara dal quattrocento al settecento", with masterpieces from 400 to 700.
Rovigo is a lively city with many organised meetings in the squares, for example the international market, "white nights", street markets selling home.made products, Rovigo Beat 2006 Festival also cultural meetings for example the "Dino Durante", award a concert by the polyphonic chair from Pola (Istria), The Rose Trophy, "October Rodigino" etc.
