Chioggia

Chioggia
The town of Chioggia is located around 20 km away from the island of Albarella, in the very southern part of the Venice Lagoon, between the open sea and the lagoon itself. Chioggia is a picturesque seaside ancient fishermans village.
The town centre develops among channels, narrow streets, arcades thus creating a very impressive, almost a dream-like atmosphere not very different from the one you can experience in Venice. In Chioggia art, popular traditions and environment blend.

An old bridge connects Chioggia to the beach in Sottomarina, a very lively sea side town, which profits from its air rich in sodium and from an extraordinary 10 km long beach of smooth, pearl-like sand, which will give you a quick and enviable suntan.

The offshore off the coast in Chioggia is an incredibly fascinating environment for divers: rocks and multicoloured sponges are the best hiding place for octopus, lobsters, cuttlefish, scorpion fish, shrimps and seahorses.
