What is the EMAS II Registration?
The 761/2001 EC regulation regulates how companies can voluntarily join the Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS II).

As for the environment management, the EMAS II includes the ISO 14001 norm completely.

With reference to the ISO 14001 norm, the EMAS II rules foresee what follows:

1. An Environmental Declaration, namely a public document stating the most significant elements of the Environmental Policy and of the SGA of a company (you can ask for a copy of it at the reception)

2. A Validation by an independent environment auditor credited by the Ecolabel Committee and by the Ecoaudit, EMAS II session (Ministry for Environment).

Both these procedures are aimed at a continuous improvement: starting from a known point, some targets are set, some adjustments are carried out to achieve those targets and eventually the achieved results are then checked upon. This voluntary process aims at a continuous improvement, which is later objectively crosschecked.
