Our trip starts from the pond lock in Volta Grimana, namely in one of the major branches of the River Po. The river current will lead us downstream in a dreamy landscape. Soon we’ll leave the Po di Venezia to get into the oldest branch of the Po river, namely into the Po di Maistra.
When travelling by water you can see the enchanting bends, lagoons, valleys and holms, not to mention the lush vegetation, which shades the first part of the river course working as a real huge umbrella. This is therefore the ideal natural habitat for lots of different animal species.
Sailing down the river to the valley you’ll enter into the Po delle Tolle, another branch of the main course. The vegetation there is rich in bushes and reeds on your right hand side while on your left you’ll be passing by sandy areas.
The landscape slowly changes as we approach the sea. The vegetation gets thin and beyond the embankments you can spot the roofs of some houses scattered all over the area.
