• History hints

  The historical events connected to the area surrounding Rosolina and particularly to the island date back to ancient times. The island of Albarella was sold and bought by several noble families and its history is characterised by floods, natural catastrophes and tides making life on the island more and more difficult. A new era for the island started in the 60s when a unique international project to turn the island into a tourist resort was put in place.

• The Po Delta

  The river Po, also called the “sweet giant”, with its 650 km is the longest river in Italy. It flows through the PoValley and into the Adriatic Sea. Its Delta is one of the biggest humid areas in Europe and in the Mediterranean area. The Po delta in the Veneto region stretches over a surface of 786 km square and includes over 160 valleys and lagoons. There are nine municipalities with over 73 thousand inhabitants located within the Po Delta and all of them belong to the province of Rovigo.
