Holidays in Albarella: from medical care to the pharmacy, from bike and golf car rental to services for people with disabilities: information about the Island.
Health and Medical Care
On Albarella Island to be more precise, at the Piazzetta Fontana is the healthcare service, this service is available both day and night and also includes an ambulance service.
Medical Assistance is available : from 1/05 to 30/09.
Opening hours doctor’s surgery: 9:00 – 12:30; 16:00 – 19:00 (Tel: +39 0426 332330).
A visit to the clinic: free (during opening hours) (ECG € 30,00).
Home visit: during the day € 60,00/during the night € 100,00
Ambulance Service available from 1/05 until 30/09.
On-call service: Tel: +39 0426 3321.
The Pharmacy is to be found at the Marina (opening period from 20/04 to 30/09).
Clinics:
Settima Ovest: open from 1/04 until 30/09. Opening hours: 9:00 – 12:30; 16:00 – 19:00. TEL. 0426 332330
Centro Sportivo: during months of July/August. Opening hours 9:00 – 12:30; 16:00 – 19:00.
Secretariat
The Secretariat has the role of the coordination and organization for the property owners, the management of the administrative costs of the property owners in Albarella, dealing with the issue of permits for owners’ guests, the management of the entrance permits as well as dealing with all the traffic entering and leaving through the entrance gates .
It is located in the Albarella S.r.l. Headquarters offices, at the entrance onto the Island next to the entrance gate.
The secretariat in low season has the following office hours: from 08.00 to 13.00 and from 14.00 to 17.30; the opening hours will be extended during high season.
Security
The Surveillance and Security Service on Albarella Island is provided by the private security institute C.I.V.I.S. Spa. The service ensures assistance 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The guards check that the Island’s regulations are being observed and sanction offenders.
The C.I.V.I.S. S.p.A. – Italian Centre for Internal and Road Supervision – a leading company in the sector, is certified in accordance with UNI EN ISO 9001: 2000 and UNI 10891: 2000.
Transport
The Island can be reached by car along an embankment road of approx. 11 km., It can also be reached by helicopter or private boat.
On the Island you should leave your car in the parking lot of your accommodation and use alternative and ecological means of transport such as bicycles, golf-cars, the Island train, rollerblades, scooters and your own legs!
On the Island there is the Island Service Center where you can rent bicycles and golf cars.
There is no public transport that arrives on the Island, it only reaches Rosolina, which is the nearest town: both trains and buses. To get to the Island you then have to continue your journey by taxi or private car.

Holy Mass
On the Island the Holy Mass is celebrated in the S. Nicolao delle Flue Church, during the month of August from Monday to Friday at 8:30 ; Saturdays and days prior to national holidays at 19:00; Sundays and national holidays at 8:30 and 12:30 .
From the beginning of and up to the 9 September, on Saturdays at 19:00 and Sundays at 12:30.
People with Disabilities
The Capo Nord Hotel **** is easily accessible for people with disabilities, it has no particular architectural barriers and there are lifts to reach the rooms, and the accessible rooms. On request, you can ask for dedicated services such as the use of special needs bikes on the Island and special wheelchairs for access to the Capo Nord beach. The large spaces of the Island and the reduced presence of cars make it easily accessible to people with disabilities.
