• The island of Albarella

  Albarella is an exclusive private island located south of Venice. It is an ideal place for spending either a relaxing break or an active, sporting family holiday.

  
  

  Situated within the beautiful Po Delta Nature Reserve, the island is connected to the mainland by a causeway, and only residents can enter the island. The island is 5 Km long and 1.5 km wide, and is shaded by around 2 million trees of 150 different species, including the Cluster Pine and the White Poplar (Populus Alba), from which the island derives its name.

• The concept of the island

  The Island of Albarella was conceived as a protected and private area where the key elements are the close contact to nature, to animals in the wild, peace and silence thus granting a completely relaxing break. Since the day the island was conceived, the entrance to it has always been limited through a barrier. Only people an entrance permit, can enter the island.
  Over 2300 private owners have purchased real estates on the island. 30% of the island is property of the family MARCEGAGLIA who owns 300 holiday houses, villas and apartments, two hotels and all the sport and trade facilities on the island.

• How to reach us

  Albarella is an island located in the lagoon area south of Venice, in the northern part of the Po Delta Nature Reserve, where the delta of the river Po flows into the Adriatic Sea. The only access to the island is a causeway running along the river Po di Levante and a bridge connecting it to the mainland. Albarella is just 1,2 km away from the State Road Romea (s.s. 309), a very important communication route between Ravenna and Venice.
  
  Albarella is only 70 km away from Venice and 90 km from Ravenna thus being very easily reachable by every mean of transportation. Here are all the routes and the information you might need.

• The Climate

  The Climate on the island of Albarella is typical for all areas in the upper part of the Adriatic coast (wet climate). Summer goes from May to September. Outside temperatures in summer span from 15°C to 40°C but they are perceived to be even higher because of the humidity rate. Water temperature varies from 17°C to 24°C.
